Curriculum & Instruction

At Drury High School we are committed to bringing students an engaging and diverse educational experience, preparing all learners for life beyond the walls of Drury. Drury High School is one of two high schools in the state of Massachusetts designated as an Early College High School that offers “wall to wall” early college, meaning that all students beginning in 2027 will have the opportunity to earn at least thirty college credits before they graduate.

Beginning in the fall of 2022, Drury students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to earn at least 15 college credits from our collegiate partner Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts by taking courses in the Humanities and STEM fields. In order to prepare for this advanced coursework, students in grades 7 and 8 will engage in a flexible grouping model based on several metrics like prior MCAS scores and i-Ready assessments, that will allow them to prepare for the credited opportunities at the high school.

In addition to the academic foundations, all students at Drury High School are working toward mastering competencies in communication, critical thinking, personal responsibility, civic participation and lifelong learning as part of our collaboration in Berkshire County’s Portrait of a Graduate. All Drury students will have the opportunity to engage in a signature experience that helps prepare them for a successful future in either college or career endeavors.

Our academic departments work in collaboration with the administration to develop and revise curriculum and instructional practices to ensure that every student gains access to the highest quality instruction. Drury utilizes current curricular materials and instructional technology. At Drury, we promote project-based learning, writing across the curriculum, and standards-based instruction and assessments, and a growth mindset to foster student learning.

Our Program of Studies highlights the broad range of available course offerings. Students will find plenty of challenging and rewarding opportunities during their years at Drury High School.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school with any questions you might have. We are committed to working with the community to ensure the best possible education for our students.
